The National Quality Standard (NQS) is part of the National Quality Framework (NQF), introduced to enhance the quality of early childhood education and care services in Australia. Under the NQS, childcare services are assessed and rated for the quality of education and care they provide. These ratings give parents a clear understanding of how well a service meets national standards, helping them make the best choice for their child’s needs. Our bespoke To BE Me program has a two-year Kindergarten/Preschool program that meets the National Quality Standard and the National Quality Framework. It offers the support, structure, and inspiration your child needs to thrive. Our unique program for children aged 3-4 and 4-5 years old ensures they are supported to develop the important emotional, social, and thinking skills they need to make A Flying Start to School.
We are incredibly grateful for the care and attention this daycare provides, a big thank you to Miss Lily and childcare west pennant hills Miss Nafessa for getting our young one ready for kindy next year. The staff are warm, patient, and truly dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels seen and celebrated. I especially appreciate their clear and consistent communication, it keeps us informed and reassured every step of the way. The center embraces multiculturalism beautifully, celebrating a wide range of events throughout the year also welcoming parents/grandparents into the centre to celebrate with the little ones.
However, I witnessed something very disturbing. Two white boys, who appeared to be older than the other children, began chasing my 4-year-old daughter. I saw multiple instances where all five children surrounded my daughter, shouting at her in a provocative manner and preventing her from moving forward. My daughter was frightened and had to hide behind me several times. There were three educators present, but none of them intervened. However, with closer observation, it was clear that this was not the case.I didn’t step in right away because I wanted to observe how both the children and educators would respond.

Afternoon tea is a time for children to come together in small groups and fosters a sense of belonging. Our team plans more opportunities for play, exploration, creativity and fun with friends, before coming together for afternoon tea, where the team supports their growing independence with opportunities to practice serving themselves. Our planned indoor and outdoor nursery experiences continue with the chance for movement, games and more books and songs, with an afternoon snack provided. Your baby’s lunch times will suit their needs, and with our open-door policy, families are welcome to enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby. When your baby is ready, they are gently settled for sleep and rest. Breakfast time provides a great chance for you to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.
Such occasions have higher opportunities for teachable moments and are great occasions for children to apply responsibility and display good character. This is why we have made plans to make excursions a regular part of the PHPS program with our own dedicated preschool minibus for excursions. A few days ago, I booked a tour of the centre and brought my children along.
