We were a team of six people in Victoria only, as we closed our small office in Sydney. I knew little about how to run a successful wine distribution business, but I felt I knew a hell of a lot about wineries and what they wanted from their distributors. At the age of 24 with no knowledge of wine, I jumped at the opportunity to move into the families new winery and try to make my own mark. He and his brothers went on to operate a chain of grocery and liquor stores across Melbourne. I love wine and what I do ~ so many passionate people, all working together is the only way to create success. Our team leaders are based throughout Australia, we don’t have a head office.

All our deliveries are insured against loss, however you must notify us in a reasonable amount of time. Our processing time for orders varies based on the number of bottles ordered and whether it's a mixed or straight case. Please note that mixed cases may take longer to prepare as we source the wine from different suppliers. Some suppliers have a minimum order requirement, which may cause a delay if ordering a small quantity (1-4 bottles). In 2004, Marcus launched St Kilda’s mr. wolf in partnership with Martini and Michael Sapountsis, with a deep focus on Italian wines. Since the sale of the MWR in 2011, Marcus has worked as a wine consultant and food and wine writer and editor, partnering with importers, wholesalers and independent wineries. With age and a growing curiosity for all things wine, his attraction to the big, wide world of winemaking, its regions, varieties, personalities, philosophies and history has intensified. He loves learning and talking about wine from all over the world, which brings him to MacPhee’s, ready to offer client’s a tailor-made wine experience.

When 2012 came around, the Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir were again produced, and the continuing fine, linear style of the wines was further established. We were living the dream, making European-style wines of subtlety and restraint, with no guiding forces other than our own creativity and a little experimental wizardry thrown in for good measure. From 2013, we decided to guide the winemaking styles by employing the skills of Justin Purser at Best’s Great Western. His experience in and passion for Burgundy make him the perfect contributor to our winemaking family.
