From the west end of Lake Crescent, the Hoh Rain Forest is about an hour, while the coast can be reached in about 45 minutes. There are no telephones, televisions or radios in the cabins, so you will sleep undistracted. This is the point where the trail becomes wilder, more unkempt and unpredictable. The trail from Port Townsend approaches along east edge of the parking area. The trail to the south descends at a moderate grade from the trailhead, and then rises slightly and falls again within 0.75 miles of the parking area. It is then relatively level south for another 1.5 miles. The trail then turns east along Douglas Wy, where it descends toward S.

Was driving past today and thought I’d check it out, I met Titus who was super friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful conversation with him, he made my day I will be back again. I came here for the chicken parmesan only and it was a good meal! A pint of stone and woods on the side made this dish a perfect lunch. The fries were a bit cold though, but overall a good meal.
Kids menu was great they had pancakes and Banana bread that they loved. Pizza is terrible, it’s like they get those cheapest frozen ones from Woolworths for $3 and then sell them for $20. Especially if you're a lifestyle member at Sydney Olympic Park.

Being in Olympic National Park, the trail doesn’t allow dogs, but with Buddy at home with a dog-sitter, this was no problem. We also didn’t have time for a long hike, and something in the neighborhood of two to three hours was perfect. There is so much more to see and do in Olympic National Park. While Staircase is far from many of the other park highlights, it’s a great place to include if you’re planning a loop trip around the entire Olympic Peninsula.  You’ll want to plan several days at the very least for such a grand tour, and a week or more is ideal.

That said, if you have time on your way into the park, you could visit Hurricane Ridge on the day of arrival. From Port Angeles, the drive takes almost an hour. Staying at Lake Crescent Lodge is the best option if you want to do a lot of recreational activities on the lake.
Your first stop will likely be the Visitor Center, so we’ll start here. The building is not dog friendly, so don’t spend too much time inside, but it’s a good place to use the bathroom and get some quick information before moving on. Optional $3.00 donation to Washington’s National Park Fund () will be automatically included in the total cost for your stay. My prices are very reasonable, but will vary depending on the size of your furry best friend. All clipping services include a warm hydro bath and towel dry. Your pet’s nails will also be trimmed as necessary. I offer a dog walking and in-home pet sitting service, for those times there are not enough hours in your day.

There is parking at the east end of the trail at the Olympic Adventure Route Trailhead. It is easy to take the bus from Port Angeles on the Clallam County Transit route 10 right to the trailhead. From Seattle, one could even take the ferry to Bainbridge Island, then two busses to Port Angeles. The idea took root and the Olympic Discovery Trail was created. This mission was later expanded to extend the trail another 30 miles to LaPush on the Pacific Ocean.
The service was terrible with the waitress getting our order wrong at least 4 times before serving us an overpriced and tasteless, so-called Mexican meal. But not to worry… it was their “new system’s fault”. Not sure the person in the kitchen is even qualified/ experienced in cooking Mexican.
