The third caravan park, Kangaroo Island Seafront, is located right in the town of Penneshaw. It’s right opposite the beach and penguin centre, next to the Penneshaw Sculpture Trail, and a short walk from the ferry terminal. Located at Emu Bay, a 4 km sheltered beach with crystal blue waters and white sands, this offers stunning views from the unpowered pitches.

We have emergency workers, surveyors, construction workers, nurses and utilities employees with light weight trucks and other large vehicles. We have maritime and fisheries with large boats, and many other service people staying with us. What I would really suggest though for those on a budget is to look at the home shares available. For about the same per night as the hotels you can get a two bedroom cottage in Kingscote that will sleep four. To really escape from civilisation, head to the western end of the island, perhaps along the northern coast.

If you are a couple looking for romantic accommodation on Kangaroo Island, this house will be perfect for you! It’s ideally located in Emu Bay, in the northern part of the island. You will be able to enjoy  them from the living room and the deck. You will love looking at the stunning views over Vivonne Bay from the dining table or the balcony.
Hamilton is a fabulously renovated 1960s colourful beach house with a private jetty and boat ramp, seafront lawn and a sundeck with barbecue. Step out of the ordinary and into Sky House to enjoy sweeping views of Kangaroo Island’s rugged coastlines and pristine beaches for as far as the eye can see. Visitors on Trip Advisor say the cottages are great places for families and friends to relax and unwind with cosy bedrooms, a kitchen and even board games stashed away in the lounge room. The house is located in Penneshaw, only a few minutes drive from the ferry terminal. This is particularly convenient but you will need to drive to reach all the sites on the island.
The crossing sets the pace before you arrive, and most Wanderers have found their rhythm by the first evening. It’s located on the eastern side of the island and  is technically not the best base for a road trip however, there are a couple of scenarios in which you would want to choose to stay in Penneshaw. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can easily cook all your meals here. You’ll find a large dining table in the kitchen and on the deck. The Oyster Farm Shop in American River is one of the best seafood shacks you will find in Australia.
